Physiotherapists recommend FABER

On the Faber climbing frame, the child performs an active movement that is natural to him and results from his preoccupation with the game or activity. When climbing, he chooses tactics and strategies to execute a move motivated by the emotion associated with the activity. Watch your child’s shoulder blades as the upper limbs lock into the trunk as the pectoral muscles open and stretch as they push up. Engagement of the gluteal and abdominal muscles, which stabilize the pelvis and give the body the possibility of support. During these movements, the quality of the muscle corset is supported and properly developed, because physiologically we are destined to shorten or weaken certain muscle groups.

The variability of the climbing frames gives children opportunities to use and engage the entire locomotor system. It is a wonderful tool for body coordination development in fine and gross motor skills. Choosing a grip strategy, performing a movement in cooperation with the whole body or eye-hand coordination perfectly stimulate the development of the aforementioned motor skills. All of this supports the development of naturally correct movement stereotypes of the body. Correctly acquired movement stereotypes are essential for the future elimination of your child’s pain.

In my practice, I often come across the opinion that the difficulties that the patient will experience are normal due to their age. But I can almost always state that age is only a secondary factor. Yes, the body system ages, but the lack of movement and subsequent decline in physical activity with age is the main factor. Not having developed a sufficient relationship with movement in childhood is decisive for how much we like to engage in movement repeatedly as we get older.

FABER: Frequently Asked Questions

If you are considering purchasing our FABER climbing frame set, you might have a lot of questions in your mind. Is it a safe set? Will I be able to assemble it? Does playing on this set interfere with my child’s natural development? Can I see it in person somewhere? Your questions are completely logical. After all, it’s about your health and the health of your loved ones. We’ve prepared an overview of the most common questions and answers to help clarify things. If you don’t find the answer to your question here, feel free to write to us. We’ll be happy to help.

1. I’ve found that you sell various types of the FABER set. Where should I start?

In this case, it’s easiest to start with one of our pre-made complete sets. You can choose from five options:

  • FABER Froggie is our starter set. We call it the magical growing Pikler triangle. You can use it as a baby gym from the earliest age. The set includes 4 teethers you can hang on the Froggie. As your baby grows and strengthens, they can practice their first steps on the Froggie.
  • FABER Panther is designed for children roughly between the ages of two and six. The set is based on the Pikler triangle but can also build other structures. This level includes a small slide.
  • FABER Monkey is like a small playground at home. You can build up to seven different structures from the set, including a double slide, swing, or rope.
  • FABER Jungle turns your child’s room into a real jungle. You can build up to 14 different structures, including a house, overhang, spider, and more.
  • FABER Universe is for our most demanding customers. You can assemble more than forty different structures, including swings for two children, large climbing frames, slides, and more.

2. If I choose, for example, FABER Froggie, can I easily upgrade it to FABER Jungle?

Yes. We’ve described how to upgrade your sets in detail on our blog. We’ve also written a guide for you.

3. What should I do if I like a specific structure and want to purchase just that?

You can buy just the structures too—here you’ll find the most popular structures among customers. Each set includes all the necessary parts to build that specific structure (or smaller ones derived from it). Each structure can also be expanded and supplemented with additional parts to build new ones. We’ll be happy to advise you on how to do this (see below).

4. I have specific requirements, and none of the complete sets work for me. What should I do?

Write to us at info@antonieemma.cz or call Eliška at +420 606 586 407. We’re also available every day on our chat. We love this form of communication the most because it’s the quickest for everyone, and we can also send you direct links to our website. You can find the chat here:

5. We are a kindergarten, school, municipality, or other institution. Can you create a custom set for us?

Of course. We’ve already created special packages for many such institutions outside of our standard offerings. Please contact us as described in point 3.

6. Can adults use this growing set too? Can you exercise on it?

Yes. You can buy the FABER Fitness set directly, or from the FABER Monkey level upwards, you can add fitness accessories according to your preference. You can choose from:

  • Pull-up bar with dip handles
  • Fitness cart
  • Rings (specially adapted for children too)
  • Rope ladder
  • Climbing boards to create a climbing wall with wooden or artificial holds (colorful in size S, or black-grey-white in sizes S and M).

Soon, you’ll have a small gym at home.

7. Where can the FABER set be placed?

Anywhere there are children. FABER can even fit into a small room because many structures can simply be mounted on the wall and folded away for storage. You can also easily store the slide on the wall. We’ve thought of everything—just attach it with a short screw to the side of the climbing frame. You can even take the climbing frames outside in good and dry weather.

8. Is the climbing frame safe?

We test the climbing frames on our own children. If that’s not enough for you, know that FABER complies with the strict European standard EN 71 for children’s toys. The individual parts are very sturdy, and some structures can even support an adult. However, do not leave children unsupervised during construction! Check that they aren’t playing on a suspension bridge supported by a sewing machine or a stack of books. Your structures must be stable, the parts must be properly assembled, and securely connected. You’re in charge of the building supervision!

9. What age is the climbing set designed for?

Whether you let a two-year-old or a five-year-old play on the set depends on the difficulty of the structure, the child’s motor skills, and your judgment. Our first level is designed for babies, and the fitness version will entertain both teenagers and adults. We state the recommended age for each level directly in the detailed description of each product.

10. Can I assemble the set myself?

Yes. As we’ve tested, even a preschooler can assemble it under your supervision. You’ll do it easily, and make sure to carefully check and tighten your children’s creations.

11. What is the lifespan of the FABER set?

We don’t know. Everything indicates it will outlast you by at least a century. We offer a lifetime warranty on manufacturing defects.

12. How do I maintain the set?

For light dirt, wipe it with a damp cloth without chemicals. For heavier dirt, lightly sand the parts with sandpaper (400 grit or finer).

13. What do physiotherapists say about the FABER climbing frame?

We asked a well-known Czech physiotherapist and former external physiotherapist for the Czech athletics team, Bc. Zdeněk Ouzký, for his opinion. You can read his statement here:

“On the FABER climbing frame, children engage in natural, active movement through play. During climbing, they choose strategies motivated by the excitement of the game. Watch how their shoulder blades stabilize as their upper limbs raise, while their chest muscles stretch. The gluteal and abdominal muscles engage, stabilizing the pelvis, which provides a solid base for movement. These movements promote proper development of muscle corset quality. Properly adopted movement patterns are essential for preventing future pain. In my practice, I often hear that a patient’s issues are age-related, but it’s usually the lack of movement that’s the primary factor. FABER is a fantastic tool for developing coordination and overall motor skills in a fun and natural way.”

14. How is the set delivered?

In compact packages. If you pick it up personally, no package will weigh more than 40 kg, and it will comfortably fit in your car.

15. Can I see the set somewhere?

Yes, at our AE points, which serve as small showrooms. You can also visit our facility in Březina near Mnichovo Hradiště. In this case, please call us (Eliška, +420 606 586 407) or write to us on chat beforehand. We’ll be happy to see you!

16. What is the set made of?

The set is made from non-toxic beech wood and beech composite.

17. Where is FABER manufactured?

All wooden parts are made in the Czech Republic. Other materials are sourced from Czech suppliers.

18. Do you offer repairs and refurbishments?

Yes. Mechanical damage to individual parts is unlikely. If you’d like to renovate and restore your set’s shine, don’t hesitate to contact us via our chat.

19. The set contains small parts. Is there a choking hazard?

No, unless your child is willing to swallow our smallest nut measuring 5 × 5 × 3.5 cm.

An exception may be the strengthening peg set, which is safe only after being mounted into the appropriate connectors (T1, T2, T3, and E1). Do not leave your children unsupervised with these individual parts.

20. Can I return the set without giving a reason?

In our five-year history, this has never happened. On the contrary, customers are pleasantly surprised by the precision of the set.

However, you can return everything within 30 days. We’ll even help you with the return shipping.

21. What is the set’s environmental impact?

We live by ecology. We’re the generation that not only wants but needs to. From the start, we plan production to minimize waste. 99% of our products come from renewable sources. The wood comes from FSC-certified forests, which are sustainably managed. We plant many more trees than we use. We also support other reforestation projects. Our production emits no harmful substances. We use all waste materials to heat in modern, eco-friendly boilers. Packaging materials are returned to circulation. Manuals and invoices are provided only in electronic form, except for the legally required leaflets.

You can have a clear conscience.
